Chicken Liver Adobo

Chicken Liver Adobo is another traditional Filipino dish version of adobo that is made with chicken liver. Some may consider this an exotic food but this is such a delicious recipe that probably most Filipinos love. This is very simple and budget friendly Filipino recipe that is worth trying.
Ingredients:
- 1 pound chicken liver
- 4 cloves garlic, crushed
- 1 piece onion, sliced
- 2 tablespoons chopped green onion
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon whole peppercorn
- 5 pieces dried bay leaves
- ½ cup soy sauce
- ¼ cup white vinegar
- ¾ cup water
- 4 tablespoons cooking oil
- salt to taste
Instructions:
- Sprinkle 1 teaspoon garlic powder and ¼ teaspoon salt all over the chicken liver. Let it stay for 10 minutes.
- Heat oil in a frying pan.
- Once the oil turns hot, sauté garlic and onion. Cook until onion get soften and garlic color turns light brown.
- Put in liver. Stir.
- Add soy sauce and water. Let it boil.
- Add bay leaves and whole peppercorn. Cover and simmer for 20 minutes.
- Add vinegar.
- Add salt to taste. Let the liquid reboil. Stir and cook for 5 minutes.
- Turn off the heat. Transfer to a serving plate. Topped with chopped green onion.
